Our International
Customers

International shipping fees are based on the weight and box size of the box needed to ship your order. To find out an estimate of how much shipping will be on your order, place the items you wish to order in your basket and proceed to the checkout.

Enter your shipping address and choose the method of shipping you wish from the drop down box and the shipping calculator will automatically calculate the shipping for you. International orders will need to choose Global Priority or Global Express, or UPS Worldwide methods. (**Please see note below)

***You may prefer to choose Global Priority or Global Express for smaller orders valued under $100 which can be shipped through the postal service. All orders over $100 in value will only be shipped via UPS Worldwide for tracking and insurance purposes.

If you choose UPS Worldwide, please be sure to tell your local Custom's office when your order arrives, that brokerage fees are through UPS and you are usually not charged any additional brokerage fees at the time of delivery. However, you are responsible for any duties and taxes still required by your country, including any VAT taxes.

If your country is not one we currently ship to, when you try to place your order you will be notified we do not ship to your country before your order is completed. The list of countries we ship to is based on advice from the United States Postal Service as well as past experiences we have had with various countries and is subject to change at any time based on the above reasons.

VERY IMPORTANT! - It is the customer's responsibility to make certain any bird food items or cleaning products can be imported into your country before placing your order. Check with your local postal office or government quarantine office. See more information below.

Orders over $100 will not be shipped to first time international customers without prior approval by us.

All large international orders placed without prior approval are subject to automatic cancellation as possible fraud.

International orders over $100 are subject to be shipped only by UPS Worldwide Express with a signature required at our discretion.

International orders are usually shipped once a week. Methods of shipping are Global Express, Global Priority, or UPS WorldWide depending on the size and value of the order. The choice of shipping carrier on international orders is at our discretion and is based on the value and weight of the order placed. For some countries there may be an additional handling fee that will be included in your shipping total shown on your order when you checkout.

The delivery time will depend greatly on which country you live in. The average transit time once your order leaves our store can vary from 3-4 days for Global Express or UPS WorldWide Express, 7-10 days for Global Priority. These times are only estimates. We do not guarantee any shipping arrival dates due to the world's increased security checks as many countries may hold a package in Customs for several weeks. We have received notice of international orders taking 30-45 days to be delivered. We cannot guarantee any specific shipping dates due to custom hold ups.

All international orders must have the same ship to and bill to address entered on their order that is on file with the credit card issuer. International orders will not be shipped to a different address other than the billing address unless previously approved by us. Any order placed with an international credit card is considered an international order. Any order placed on a computer outside the United States is considered an International Order.

All international customers must pay by a credit card which can be verified by the International Address Verification System. Most American Express Credit Cards can be verified this way. If your credit card information cannot be verified, we may ask you use another credit card or we may cancel your order.

IMPORTANT: International orders may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you the customer. We have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country and you may want to contact your local customs office for further information before placing an order. You are considered the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods. Once your package reaches your country you may be contacted by your postal service, UPS, or local government office, in order to make payment arrangements for these charges, if any.

Please note if you refuse the shipment or refuse payment of any customs charges when your order arrives, we reserve the right to either bill your credit card for any shipping and/or customs fees or duties, or deduct all shipping fees including return shipping charges, and any customs duties charged by your country from any credit you may receive. If the return shipping and customs fees are more than the value of the order, then your order may be destroyed by the Customs office in your country and you will not receive any refund on the order. International customers are also responsible for return shipping charges on any item(s) not allowed to be imported to your country.

If you are unsure whether an item can be imported into your country, you should check with your country's local postal service or government quarantine station to verify the item(s). Although we check available import information for excepted items of import before shipping, it is up to the international customer to make certain the items ordered can be received, as the United States may not be able to provide complte information on unacceptable items for your particular country. Credits are not issued for any items destroyed by Customs or quarantine stations in your country. If items are returned to us because your country does not allow them, once they are received by us in the same condition as originally shipped, a 20% restocking fee will be deducted from any credit due the customer. Any shipping fees are not refundable.

After placing your order with The Nature Chest Bird Shop you will receive an automated confirmation email. The receipt of the order confirmation email does not guarantee acceptance of your order by us. The automated order confirmation email you receive only confirms that our system has received your order. The Nature Chest Bird Shop reserves the right to correct any order errors, to limit the order quantity for any item, and The Nature Chest Bird Shop reserves the right to refuse to fulfill an order to a customer if we suspect fraud, failure to provide a valid email address or other contact information, incorrect billing information, or other information necessary to process your order. We may request verification of credit card information or other important information, prior to the acceptance of any international order.
