Shipping Informaton

Our store is located in North Alabama and that is where we ship from. Click on the map to the left to review the shipping time table for general ground shipping to see how many days your package will take to arrive once it ships from our store to you.

UPS does not count Saturdays; Sundays or Holidays as delivery traveling days, nor does the postal service count Sundays or Holidays as delivery traveling days.

*****General Shipping Information*****

The Nature Chest & Calypso Parrot do not offer free shipping on every order because there is no such thing as "free" shipping offered by UPS, FedEx, or the US Postal Service.
We ask you to compare our prices to stores who claim to offer you free shipping and you will usually see that they add the shipping costs into the prices of their products.
We can not and do not control the shipping prices of UPS and the US Post Office. These prices are set by the various shipping companies and the shipping costs are automatically generated from these companies when you choose the method of shipping you want at checkout.

Shipping fees are figured by the weight, size, address, and even the zip code of your order from point A (that's us) to point B (that's you). The larger your order, the less per pound UPS and the post office charge to ship your order to you.

You do not have to enter any credit card information for the shipping calculator to show you the different methods of shipping we offer, as well as the cost to ship the items you wish to purchase to your address.

Easy way to calculate your shipping:

Shipping fees are automatically calculated by the shipper you choose and are based on the weight of your order, size of your package, and the zip code to which your order is being shipped. To find out the shipping fees on the items you would like to order simply place the items in the shopping basket and proceed to the checkout. Scroll down the checkout page just a bit and you should see our "shipping calculator" with a box to enter your zip code and your state. Just below that box is another box with a small arrow on the right side that you can click on and choose which method of shipping you would like for your order. The default shipping is UPS but you have the option of several different methods as well. Then simply hit the "apply to my order" button and your shipping will appear above in the checkout.

You may also choose different methods of shipping if you would like to compare the shipping fees. You do not need to enter any credit card information to view the shipping costs.

IMPORTANT INFO for customers in HI, AK, PR, and US outlying islands - We ship USPS to these states and territories instead of UPS even if the customer does not change the shipping method from UPS at checkout. We will adjust the shipping fee you were initially shown at checkout if you chose UPS, to reflect mail services instead of UPS fees. If you do for some reason want your package to ship UPS at the much higher rate, please put a note in your order comments that you do not want your shipping method changed to the postal service. If we can fit your order into the post office's Priority Mail flat rate boxes, we will do so and reduce your shipping fees accordingly. The shipping calculator cannot know whether your order will fit into the flat rate boxes at checkout though, so your checkout will show the standard shipping fee before any reduction. If you have questions please give us a call and we can check to see if what you are ordering will fit into the flat rate boxes to save on shipping.

NOTE: UPS does charge a correction fee of $10 to customers if they have to correct a shipping address, so please carefully enter your address and be sure to double check it before submitting your order.

Our store currently ships Tuesday through Friday. UPS Ground shipping usually arrives within 2-5 business days after an order is shipped excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Although we do not require a signature on most smaller orders, your UPS Driver may require one depending on the area being shipped to. Your order may be shipped to your place of work so someone can sign for the package rather than a home address if you prefer. NOTE: Orders over $100 are shipped UPS to the billing address only on file with the credit card company and may require a signature at time of delivery unless pre-approved by us. We also offer UPS Express Delivery, which usually arrives 2-3 days from the date your order is shipped, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. UPS Next Day Air is available usually during the holiday season but may not be available all year long. Next Day Air delivery does not include Saturday, Sunday, or holiday delivery.

PLEASE NOTE: choosing an expedited shipment method will not reduce a product's availability time, it may still be 2-3 business days before your order is shipped.

We also offer Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation on orders under $100, as well as First Class Mail on orders weighing less than 13 ounces total weight including packaging and box weight. Orders above $100 may be required to be shipped by UPS only at our discretion, and may require a signature for delivery.

Deliveries to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands as well as U.S. Outlying Islands, may require 1-2 additional days in shipping time to reach you.

Orders being shipped to APO addresses may take from 1 to 8 weeks to arrive once they have left our store, depending on the country to be shipped to, and the military delivery system status.

Unless you have a coupon for free shipping, if your order does not show a shipping fee at checkout, an error has occurred and shipping will be added to your order before it is shipped.

If you choose an invalid shipping method not available to your address even though you receive an error message at checkout, the shipping on your order will be changed to the least expensive shipping method that is available for your order and any additional shipping fees necessary will be added to your order before it is processed.

The UPS map shown above will help you estimate shipping times to your particular state once your order leaves our store.

Items Damaged in Shipping

Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives to be sure everything arrived safely. If you find something that has been damaged in shipping, or if something is missing from your order, please contact us immediately so that we may contact the shipping carrier on your behalf to file a damage report. In most instances a new item can be shipped out immediately to you to replace the one that was received damaged. If a replacement item is not in stock we will let you know. Most carriers require that you keep the damaged item for at least 10 days in case they wish to pick the item up for inspection. After 10 days, if the item has not been picked up by the shipping carrier or by us, you may throw the item out. We will explain everything when you contact us about the damage.

International Shipping

International orders will be shipped only to the billing address on file with the credit card company unless approved first by us. Any order placed with an international credit card is considered an international order, even if the shipping address is inside the United States. Any order placed from outside the United States is considered an International Order, with the exception of U.S. Military Personnel, even if shipping to an address inside the United States.

Requests to ship orders to freight forwarders may be canceled by us if fraud is suspected. Before shipping an order to a freight forwarder you will be required to acknowledge that the Nature Chest is not responsible for any damages in shipping once your package leaves the delivered to address by our carrier.

Persons placing an order outside the United States, should review our International Ordering Information page. All international orders must he placed through the web site.

International orders are shipped via Global Express, Global Priority, Insured Airmail, or UPS WorldWide and are shipped out usually once a week. Choice of shipping carrier on international orders is at our discretion and is based on the value and weight of the order placed. Orders valued at over $100 are not shipped by mail unless pre-approved by us beforehand. Please see our International Ordering Information page for additional information.
